The United States Government on Monday in Kano declared its readiness to assist Nigeria to repatriate its stolen funds stashed abroad by corrupt public office-holders and politicians.
During an interactive session with newsmen in Kano, the US Special Representative to Muslim Communities, Shaarik Zafar, said that the US Government was committed to assist in fast-tracking the process of returning the stolen money back to Nigeria.
Before the stolen money could be brought back to Nigeria, he said, certain legal procedures needed to be followed “and that is what the US Government is facilitating currently.”
