Justice Ngwuta paid me N313m to build him houses – Contractor

A building contractor, Mr. Nwamba Chukwuebuka, on Wednesday, narrated to a Federal High Court, Abuja, how he was engaged and paid a total amount of N313m by a Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, to build three sets of houses in Ebonyi State last year.

Chukwuebuka, who was testifying as the first prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of Justice Ngwuta on corruption charges, said the judge paid the sum of N313m out of the total project cost of N405m within nine months, spanning from January to September 2016.

According to him, the first project was worth N130m, the second N165m and the third N110m.

The witness, a 1996 graduate of civil engineering from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, said the projects were located at Abakaliki and Onicha, Ebonyi State, the apex court Justice’s home state.
