The Nigeria Labour Congress and its sister body, United Labour Congress, on Monday held parallel ceremonies to mark the 2017 May Day celebrations in Delta State with a call on employers of labour to prioritise the welfare of workers.
Both separate celebrations were held in Asaba and Effurun areas of the state.
The state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who attended the NLC May Day celebrations in Asaba, the state capital, lamented that governments at all levels were finding it difficult to meet the desired welfare of Nigerian workers.
