Lawyer kicks as EFCC re-arrests ex-FCT minister

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Chris Uche, who is a lawyer to a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the former minister’s re-arrest.

Mohammed was said to have been re-arrested last week Tuesday by the operatives of the commission and had since been in detention.

But in a petition to the EFCC, Uche said the former minister’s re-arrest and continued detention amounted to contempt of court having been granted bail by an FCT High Court on November 26, 2016 on the same allegation after spending about 42 days in detention last year.
