The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the plenary on Tuesday, threatened to dissolve ad hoc committees in the Senate who fail to conclude their assignments by the end of January.
Saraki, while decrying the delay in carrying out their assignments, most of which were investigative in nature, said they were almost becoming substantive committees.
The panels are to present their reports in two weeks or risk dissolution.
The Senate President said, “I hope by now they should have presented their reports but some of these ad hoc committees, in a way and through the back door are turning themselves into standing committees. By the end of this month, please, all ad hoc committees must complete their assignments or I will have no alternative but to dissolve these committees.
