The Centre for Anti -Corruption and Open Leadership has enjoined President Muhammadu Buhari not to be afraid of standing alone for the truth in the crucial war against corruption.
This is as the anti-corruption body also expressed the hope that the anti-corruption campaign would not be compromised in whatever quantum for political expedience, “as we enter the few months left for the next year general elections.
Addressing journalists at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, CACOL Executive Chairman, Comrade Debo Adeniran, said, “It is curious to note that while Mr. President professed anti – corruption programme, neither his party nor the governors from the same party has adopted or domesticated the policy.”
He said for the policy to BE meaningful, it cannot be a one man presidential show.
He therefore called and challenged all governmental agencies, state and local governments as well as private organisations to openly declared the anti – corruption creed as part of their corporate and social responsibilities.
Adeniran also called the attention of all anti – corruption agencies to the legions of petitions on corruption cases which CACOL and other organizations have submitted to them, saying they must not be swept under the carpet.
