The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has threatened to deal with traders who display their wares by roadsides, thereby obstructing traffic in the state.
Ambode said markets, where traders constitute a nuisance to road users and other members of the public, would be shut.
He spoke during a meeting with leaders of the Agbado Oke-Odo Market at the Lagos House, Ikeja, on Wednesday.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello, said market leaders in the state had been warned several times on the need to stop market men and women from disturbing others through their trading activities, but some had been adamant.
