Amosun warns newly elected chairmen on corruption

The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has warned the 57 newly-elected chairmen of the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 additional Local Council Development Areas in the state against “short-changing” their people.
He gave this warning on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony for them at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.
The new chairmen, who are all of the ruling All Progressives Congress, were declared winners of the 57 chairmanship seats by the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission in the last Saturday’s council elections in the state.

Amosun urged them to see their new status as a “call to service” and urged them to be “transparent, accountable and not short-change the people” lest they would be called to give account of their stewardship to President Muhammadu Buhari’s government of probity.
