CJN: Osinbajo sends Onnoghen’s name to Senate for approval

The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has written a letter to the Senate seeking the approval of the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria,  Justice Walter Onnoghen, as the substantive CJN.

In another letter, Osinbajo urged the Senate to confirm Mr. Adeyinka Asekun from Ogun State as a non-career ambassador.

In the letter dated February 7, 2017, with reference number SH/AG. PRESIDENT/SEN/02/0 and addressed to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki,  Osinbajo sought legislative confirmation of the appointment of Justice Onnoghen of the Supreme Court as the CJN.
