CSOs urge FG to cancel P/Harcourt refinery concession

A coalition of 20 civil society and anti-corruption groups has  issued the Federal Government 48 hours to cancel the planned concession of the Port-Harcourt refinery to AGIP/ENI and Oando or face legal and civil action.

A statement jointly signed by the groups yesterday said the planned concession was fraudulent and did not follow transparent process as provided for by Section 1(1&2) of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (Establishment, ETC) Act, 2005.

It said the Senate probe into the concession was needles saying, “The deal is patently illegal, morally bankrupt and economically disadvantageous to Nigeria as a country.
