EFCC doesn’t need arrest warrant to produce Adoke, others —Court

Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday,  said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission did not need an arrest warrant to produce the suspects named in the $1.1bn Malabu oil scam in court.

The judge said instead of applying for arrest warrants, the EFCC should use its “coercive powers” to produce the suspects in court.

Justice Tsoho said this while responding to a request for guidance by the EFCC’s lawyer, Mr. Johnson Ojogbane, who said the commission had not been able to serve the suspects with the charges preferred against them as they were said to be unavailable.
