Allegations that Nigeria’s embattled Chief of Army Staff appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari last year, General Tukur Buratai, bought two choice properties in Dubai worth about $1.5 million far above all his earnings as a soldier have continued to raise dust with many prominent Nigerians calling on him to resign or for President Buhari who promised to fight corruption to sack him with immediate effect.
Many have wondered why the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, which has gone after Senate President, Mr. Bukola Saraki, for allegedly failing to declare some of his assets and liabilities, has not gone after Mr. Buratai who may not logically justify how he could afford properties worth hundreds of millions of naira in Dubai with his earnings.
