The passage of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 by the National Assembly and its subsequent signing into law in May 2015 by the then outgoing President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, was a source of joy to many.
Those whose souls were lifted by the birth of the new law, were the ones saddened by how the rich, the politically-exposed and highly influential individuals who were charged with corruption offences easily manipulated the criminal justice system by keeping their trial perpetually stalled.
