The Lagos Sate Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said the proposed Bus Reform Initiative aimed at giving the residents of the state an integrated public transportation system will start this year with a sinking fund of N30bn.
Ambode, who spoke to journalists on Saturday in Ikeja, said the reform was aimed at providing a viable alternative to transport challenges.
He said, “The Bus Reform Initiative is a three-year plan aimed at introducing over 5,000 air-conditioned buses to replace the yellow buses, popularly called Danfo. The Bus Reform Initiative is from 2017 to 2019 and through it, we intend to bring in new buses of about 5,000 units.
