Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State on Wednesday said the quest by the country to achieve energy security could no longer be left to the Federal Government alone.
Ambode, who spoke at the Lagos House in Ikeja after receiving the report of the Embedded Power Technical Committee constituted by the government with representatives from the public and private sectors, added that the state planned to attain a 24-hour power supply through the generation of 3,000 megawatts of electricity by 2022.
He noted that the major bane of the power situation in the country was transmission, adding that the initiative was designed to permanently resolve power crisis in the state and by extension, in the country.
