Metuh to call Dasuki as witness

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Olisa Metuh, on Wednesday, applied to subpoena as his next defence witness the immediate National former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is prosecuting Metuh and Destra Investment Limited on seven counts, including fraud involving N400m, which he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014 without any justification.Other counts involve alleged money laundering involving cash transaction worth $2m, which was said to be above the limit of cash payments allowed by law.

Dasuki, who has been in the detention of the Department of State Services for over a year, is also being prosecuted  by the EFCC on separate charges relating to diversion of billions of naira meant for the procurement of arms while he held sway as the NSA.
