N1.64bn fraud: Court to rule on Nyame’s no-case submission

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Gudu, on Wednesday, fixed February 14 for ruling on the no-case submission filed by a former Governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, with respect to his ongoing trial on  41counts of criminal misappropriation of N1.64bn belonging to the state.

Justice Adebukola Banjoko fixed the date to rule on whether Nyame has case to answer, after entertaining arguments in support and against the ex-governor’s no-case submission on Wednesday.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had filed the 41 counts charge alleging that the former governor criminal misappropriated of N1.64bn of state’s funds.

The prosecution had on November 22, 2016 closed its case against Nyame after calling 14 witnesses.
