The Edo State Government has dismissed the speculation that the N11.3bn Paris Club refund it received from the Federal Government was lodged in a fixed deposit account operated by the state government or the governor.
Governor Godwin Obaseki disclosed this on Monday in a statement by his interim Chief Press Secretary, John Mayaki, while reacting to a protest by local and state pensioners over the non-payment of their entitlements.
The pensioners had accused the state government of failing to disburse the funds to clear the backlog of salaries and pensions.
