The order of a Federal High Court in Abuja freezing the bank accounts of a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah; and a company, Stoke Synergy Nigeria Limited, over allegations that they diverted the sum of N13.6bn belonging to the Nigeria Army has lapsed.
The PUNCH had reported that Justice Gabriel Kolawole made the order freezing the ex-army chief’s account on June 30 upon an ex parte motion filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
By our correspondent’s calculation, the order, which the judge ruled would last for 90 days, lapsed on September 28 (Thursday).
Sources familiar with the case however told our correspondent that neither Minimah nor the company affected by the order had filed any court processes to challenge the court order.
