‘NJC official didn’t exonerate Justice Ademola in court’

An official of the National Judicial Council and a prosecution witness, Mr. Eugene Odukwu, had not testified on the status of a bribery petition sent against a judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, in 2013.

Odukwu, a Director of Administration of the NJC, appeared before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, as a subpoenaed witness in the ongoing trial on Wednesday.

Our correspondent, on Thursday, learnt from lawyers in both the prosecution and defence teams in the case that Odukwu only appeared as a witness subpoenaed to tender documents and did not give oral evidence.
