Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, then domestic aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has said the $15.5m seized from the ex-President’s wife, Patience, was her legitimate money.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission froze four Skye Bank accounts containing the money in July 2016.
The anti-graft agency said the money was suspected to be proceeds of fraud.
To recover the money, Patience sued the EFCC, Skye Bank, Dudafa and four firms.
Hearing in the case, which was filed in 2016, commenced before Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos last week.
