The police through the Office of the Inspector-General of Police, have filed two separate set of fraud charges against a former Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, and two others.
The police alleged in the separate set of charges that the former governor and his other co-defendants of diverted about N10bn meant for the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme set up by the then President Goodluck Jonathan administration following the part removal of fuel subsidy in 2012.
The police filed the charges marked FHC/ABJ/CR/255/ 2016 and FHC/ABJ/CR/256/2016, and with five and four counts respectively, against Suswam and others before a Federal High Court in Abuja late last year.Click here for more detail
