Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, and Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, will, on Friday, declare the first Lagos Art Expo open. The event, holding at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island is organised by the Lagos State Government in honour of deceased art patron and businessman, Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi.
Themed Lagos For All, the event will run till Sunday, January 29 and it will feature an exhibition of more than 400 artworks and photographs comprising those of master artists, emerging artists and students, as well as works from some art galleries.
While the Special Adviser to Governor Akinwumi Ambode’s on Overseas Affairs, Professor Ademola Abass, also gives a background of the project, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, explains that the exhibition is happening for three reasons.
