The National Economic Council presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was on Thursday told how Nigeria lost over $100bn (N30tn) of national export revenue between 2015 and 2017.
The Director General of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mr. Segun Awolowo, told State House correspondents that he called the council’s attention to the figure in his presentation at the meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The council, chaired by the Vice-President, has all state governors, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria as members.
According to Awolowo, the thrust of his presentation to NEC was the plan to restructure the Nigerian economy to survive without crude oil through what he called “the zero oil plan.”
